Reiki-Reflex: an exceptional healing experience
Treat yourself to the ultimate healing combination! This treatment combines a specially adapted full body Reiki session followed by reflexology which is tailored to the client's individual needs. Please allow 90 minutes for this special experience - a little longer if you are a first time client so that we can discuss your medical history and other details.
Starting at the head and working towards the feet, the Reiki treatment induces deep relaxation, balances the chakra energies and stimulates the body's healing processes. This relieves stress, pain and tension and promotes a feeling of well-being. Once the feet have received the Reiki energy, a reflexology treatment follows. With the client already deeply relaxed and all the body's pathways cleared by Reiki, the reflexology is able to work on exceptionally deep and subtle levels.
The treatment ends with a clearing of any negative or stale energies and final balancing of the chakras, followed by a 'blessing' of protecting light energy. Time is allowed for the client to drink a glass of water and to ensure that they are fully awake and grounded before making their way into the outside world.

Reflexology is an ancient healing therapy dating back to ancient Egypt. It has also been practised in other cultures, for instance the Chinese and the Native Americans. Current practice incorporates more recent scientific knowledge and research, and it is increasingly respected by the medical profession. Some GPs in Britain now refer people for reflexology and some hospitals use it in palliative care and to help post-operative recovery.
Our feet have over 7,000 nerve endings which connect to the rest of the body, as well as ‘reflex’ points which correspond to various parts of the anatomy. The feet in effect represent a map of the complete body. Skilled pressure of the reflex points and different areas on the feet helps to relieve physical symptoms and stimulates the effective functioning of organs, joints and vital body systems. It is also possible to practise reflexology on the hands if for some reason the feet are not accessible: for example in the case of some hospitalised patients, amputees and people with serious foot problems.
Reflexologists are trained to detect tension and imbalances in the feet which correspond to a particular part of the body. While reflexology does not claim to cure or diagnose, these findings offer a very useful insight into our body's functions and dysfunctions, including any tensions in the related chakras (main energy centres in the body). Often there are very simple ways to address these imbalances once we are aware of them.

Indian Head Massage (also known as champissage) is a wonderfully relaxing therapy which has its roots in the traditional scalp massage practised by women in India for their families. The treatment as we know it today in the West was developed by Narendra Mehta, a respected Indian bodywork practitioner with a highly developed sense of touch, being blind from early childhood. The modern treatment incorporates upper back, shoulder and neck massage as well as the scalp, followed by gentle face relaxation and balancing of the upper chakras. Treatment takes place seated and fully clothed. Oils may be used on the scalp if desired.
This is a truly effective treatment for relieving the symptoms of physical and emotional stress. The head, neck and shoulders are all places where tension tends to accumulate. This may show up as a stiff neck or shoulders, headaches, eye strain or migraine. The firm but gentle rhythm of the massage helps to unravel knotted muscles, relieve blockages and dispel accumulated toxins. It promotes good circulation to the scalp and has the added benefit of encouraging lustrous hair growth.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means ‘universal life force’. It is the vital energy which naturally flows through and nurtures all living things, also known in different traditions as Chi (Chinese), Prana (Indian) and Mana (Hawaian).
Reiki healing is a natural healing system believed to have originated in ancient Tibet and India. It was rediscovered and developed in the 19th century by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese monk. Reiki practitioners have received attunements to a special energy vibration. This enables them to channel the healing energy direct from the Source to other people.
Receiving Reiki has a soothing, refreshing and balancing effect on the whole being. It will work with the causes of any illness or imbalance, as well as the symptoms. It helps to dispel negative energies and blockages, and will naturally flow to the areas that most need healing. While you lie fully clothed on a comfortable couch, listening to soft music (if you wish), the practitioner will place her hands gently on your body and allow the Reiki energy to flow. Clients often feel warmth or a pleasant tingling, although each client’s experience will be unique.
Reiki is not allied to any particular religion or belief system. It is open to all and will work whatever your beliefs. Many of my clients tell me they receive useful insights during healing sessions which raise their awareness of the current blessings and challenges in their life path. Some find it helps in releasing blocked emotions. Others may simply find it physically relaxing and a rare chance to unwind fully, away from everyday pressures.
